Iran (The COW News Digital)Iran has accused the United States and Israel of encouraging instability and violence inside the country, escalating tensions at the United Nations amid ongoing unrest in the region. Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, said Washington, in coordination with Tel Aviv, is actively promoting provocation and disorder within Iran.
In a formal letter addressed to the United Nations Security Council, Ambassador Iravani rejected what he described as American efforts to destabilize Iran. He stated that recent US actions and statements amount to a clear violation of the UN Charter and fundamental principles of international law, particularly those related to state sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.
According to the Iranian envoy, the United States and Israel are working together to incite unrest and encourage violent behavior under the guise of supporting human rights. He described these actions as unlawful, irresponsible, and dangerous, warning that they pose a serious threat to global peace and security.

Ambassador Iravani emphasized that foreign interference only worsens internal tensions and undermines diplomatic solutions. He argued that such policies risk destabilizing not only Iran but the wider Middle East, a region already grappling with multiple political and security crises.
In his letter, the Iranian diplomat urged the Security Council to take note of what Tehran sees as a pattern of hostile behavior by Washington and its allies. He called on the international community to uphold international law and prevent powerful states from using political pressure or media narratives to interfere in the domestic affairs of sovereign nations.
Iran has repeatedly accused the United States and Israel of exploiting internal challenges to advance their strategic interests. Tehran maintains that external encouragement of protests or unrest violates international norms and sets a dangerous precedent for global relations.
The remarks come at a time of heightened scrutiny over Iran’s internal situation, with Western governments frequently criticizing Tehran over its handling of protests and civil unrest. Iranian officials, however, insist that such criticism is politically motivated and aimed at weakening the country from within.
Iranian authorities have also warned that continued foreign involvement could have serious consequences for regional stability. Tehran has called for dialogue based on mutual respect, stressing that sustainable peace can only be achieved through adherence to international law and respect for national sovereignty.
The United States and Israel have not immediately responded to the accusations. Both countries have previously denied interfering in Iran’s internal affairs, stating that their positions are based on concerns over human rights and regional security.
As tensions persist, Iran has urged the United Nations to play a more active role in preventing what it describes as deliberate attempts to inflame violence and destabilize sovereign states.
