Chasing a challenging target of 193 runs, Islamabad United successfully reached the total in the 19th over, displaying strong batting depth and composure under pressure. Chapman played a match-winning knock, scoring an unbeaten 69 runs off just 33 balls, hitting four boundaries and six towering sixes in a dominant display of aggressive stroke play.
Earlier, Multan Sultans had posted a competitive total of 192 for 7 after being put into bat. Shan Masood contributed 44 runs, while Arafat Minhas added 31. Steve Smith and Sahibzada Farhan also chipped in with 30 runs each, helping their side set a strong target.
Islamabad United’s bowling attack remained disciplined, with all six bowlers managing to take at least one wicket each, ensuring consistent pressure throughout the innings.
In response, Islamabad United got off to a steady start before accelerating in the middle overs. Captain Shadab Khan also played a valuable supporting role, scoring 36 runs and helping stabilize the chase alongside Chapman’s explosive innings.
The victory helped Islamabad United finish the group stage with 13 points, securing second position on the points table. With this result, they have qualified for the playoff stage, where they will face Peshawar Zalmi in the Qualifier match scheduled to be played in Karachi on April 28.
