World ( The cow news digital ) Health and sanitation experts have issued important guidelines on how to prevent cockroaches, flies, mosquitoes, and other insects during Eid-ul-Adha, especially as the festival coincides with rising summer temperatures and increased household waste.

According to experts, the combination of animal sacrifice, meat storage, and improper disposal of waste materials creates an environment that attracts insects and increases the risk of bacterial infections in homes.

During Eid days, one of the most common problems is leaving animal waste unattended, delaying garbage disposal, and storing meat in unsafe conditions. These practices not only create unpleasant odors but also accelerate the spread of harmful germs and pests such as cockroaches.

Experts emphasize that kitchens, storage areas, sinks, and spaces around refrigerators are particularly vulnerable because moisture and leftover food particles provide ideal breeding conditions for insects. Regular and thorough cleaning becomes essential during this period.

To control cockroach infestation, specialists recommend cleaning drains, corners, and sinks daily using hot water and disinfectant solutions. They also advise against leaving dirty dishes overnight, as food residue and grease can quickly attract pests.

Home remedies such as a mixture of baking soda and sugar are also commonly suggested as a deterrent for cockroaches, especially when placed in areas where insects are frequently seen. Additionally, strong natural scents such as bay leaves, cloves, and mint are believed to help repel insects to some extent.

During Eid-ul-Adha, proper handling of meat is crucial. Experts advise that meat should not be left exposed for long periods and should be immediately stored in refrigerators or freezers to prevent contamination. Cleaning the refrigerator is equally important, as blood stains and grease buildup can lead to bad odors and bacterial growth.

After animal sacrifice, authorities and health professionals recommend immediate and proper disposal of waste materials. Applying lime or disinfectant sprays on animal remains can help prevent flies and other insects from spreading.

If households include children or elderly members, experts advise using chemical sprays with caution and ensuring that rooms are ventilated and left unoccupied for a short time after spraying.

Health specialists conclude that cleanliness is not only a religious value but also the most effective way to prevent diseases during Eid-ul-Adha. Even small preventive measures can significantly reduce the risk of infections and keep families safe during the festive season.
