National ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that efforts to engage in dialogue with the government have failed to produce any meaningful progress despite Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s public invitation for negotiations.

Speaking to reporters outside Adiala Jail on Wednesday, Barrister Gohar expressed concern over the continued restrictions on meetings with former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan. He said party leaders have repeatedly been denied access to Khan, even on scheduled visitation days, creating uncertainty within the party’s leadership.

According to Gohar, more than 36 weeks have passed without a meeting between senior PTI representatives and the party founder. He argued that regular consultations with Imran Khan are essential for understanding his position on political developments and for ensuring that party decisions reflect his guidance.

Gohar also highlighted the concerns of Khan’s family, stating that they have requested permission for his three sisters to meet him. He maintained that facilitating family visits is a humanitarian matter and should not be subject to unnecessary restrictions.

Referring to the government’s offer of political dialogue, the PTI chairman said the invitation announced by the prime minister on the floor of the National Assembly has not translated into practical engagement. He added that the absence of tangible progress has raised questions about the seriousness of the proposed negotiations.

The PTI leader further argued that simultaneous legal actions against party members have complicated the political environment. He said the continuation of court cases and convictions against PTI workers and leaders while discussions on reconciliation are being mentioned sends mixed signals about the government’s intentions.

Separately, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said the party is facing internal pressure because its leadership has been unable to consult directly with Imran Khan. He stressed that many important political and organizational decisions require guidance from the party founder, and prolonged restrictions on meetings have affected the leadership’s ability to move forward with clarity.

Raja reiterated the party’s demand for regular access to Imran Khan, saying direct communication would help address internal issues and provide clear direction to party officials. He emphasized that PTI remains committed to seeking political solutions through dialogue but believes meaningful progress depends on open communication and practical confidence-building measures between all stakeholders.
