National ( The cow news digital ) Law enforcement agencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have eliminated the alleged mastermind behind the deadly attack on the Khazeena Banda police post in Hangu, police officials confirmed on Sunday.
According to police sources, security forces launched a targeted operation near the Chhapri Naryab area following intelligence reports regarding the movement of 15 to 18 militants (Khwarij). During the ensuing engagement, the high-value terrorist target was shot dead.
Police officials verified that the slain terrorist was the primary planner of the July 29 assault on the Khazeena Banda checkpost. The brazen attack had resulted in the martyrdom of 10 police personnel—including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)—and left 28 others injured.
Security operations remain underway in the region to track down and neutralize the remaining members of the militant group.
