China Expresses Deep Sympathy for Pakistan Flood Victims

Beijing (The COW News Digital)China has expressed deep condolences over the devastating floods in Pakistan, which have caused significant loss of life and property. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed its heartfelt sympathy to the families of the deceased and those injured, expressing confidence that the Pakistani people will recover and rebuild swiftly.

During a press briefing in Beijing, the spokesperson emphasized that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi personally extended condolences to his Pakistani counterpart, Ishaq Dar, highlighting the strong diplomatic ties and mutual support between the two countries.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry further assured that the Chinese embassy in Pakistan is actively monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals residing in the country. According to the latest reports, no Chinese citizens have been reported dead or injured in the ongoing floods and heavy rainfall across Pakistan.

Pakistan has been severely affected by unprecedented monsoon rains, resulting in widespread flooding, landslides, and destruction of homes and infrastructure. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported that since June 26, 2025, a total of 657 people have lost their lives due to rain-related accidents, landslides, and flood incidents. Thousands of homes have been partially or completely destroyed, leaving countless families displaced.

Chinese officials reiterated their support for Pakistan during this humanitarian crisis, noting that both countries have historically assisted each other during natural disasters. The statement reflects China’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid and solidarity in times of need.

The floods have prompted a swift response from Pakistani authorities, including emergency relief operations, distribution of essential supplies, and temporary shelters for affected families. International condolences, including China’s, underscore the global concern and solidarity for the victims of this devastating natural disaster.
