Exiled Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, based in Canada, has strongly voiced his support for Pakistan, declaring that 20 million Sikhs stand with the country and will not allow the Indian Army to use Punjab as a route to launch any attack against Pakistan.
Speaking in a statement released over the weekend, Pannun said, “Pakistan’s name itself means ‘pure’. India does not have the courage to cross Punjab and attack Pakistan.”
Pannun, who is a prominent figure in the Khalistan movement, also denounced what he called ongoing atrocities against minorities, particularly Sikhs, in India. He pledged to bring top Indian leaders — including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval — before international courts for violations of human rights and international law.
His remarks come at a time of heightened regional tensions between India and Pakistan, further inflamed by recent incidents in Kashmir and abroad.
