RAWALPINDI: Prominent figures from Pakistan’s entertainment industry, including Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Osman Khalid Butt, Samar Jafri, and Iffat Omar, have spoken out demanding justice and a transparent investigation following the tragic death of Hina Javed in Rawalpindi.
Hina Javed was found dead on August 20 in Rawalpindi. Following her death, her brother Fahad lodged a murder case against her husband Asghar Imam, her father-in-law, and a domestic worker. An official police investigation remains ongoing, with legal proceedings actively underway to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
Reacting to the incident on social media, actress Mahira Khan expressed deep grief and indignation over the tragic loss, questioning societal norms while offering her heartfelt condolences and support to the grieving family.
Actors Hania Aamir and Samar Jafri shared posts from the “Justice for Hina” movement on their Instagram stories to amplify the family’s plea for accountability. Meanwhile, veteran actress Iffat Omar urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to take immediate notice of the case and exercise her authority to safeguard women against domestic violence.
Adding his voice to the movement, actor Osman Khalid Butt described the initial details of the case as horrifying, expressing concern that the victim’s family should receive swift legal recourse without having to endure a prolonged fight against system delays.
