Iran Pursues Revival of Islamabad Accord Amid Diplomacy

TEHRAN (The COW News Digital ) Iranian authorities announced that active international diplomacy is underway to restore the strategic Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and resolve outstanding regional issues.

Addressing a press conference, Interior Ministry Spokesman Ali Zeynevad confirmed that ongoing diplomatic efforts and third-party mediation are aimed at returning to the Islamabad agreement. He emphasized that Tehran expects all signatories to strictly honor their commitments and uphold their side of the accord.

The spokesman underscored the agreement’s high-level backing, noting it bears full approval from Iran’s top leadership, including Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

Zeynevad added that Iran continues to pursue robust diplomatic engagement across multilateral forums. He highlighted the Iranian president’s participation in recent Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and BRICS summits hosted in India and Kyrgyzstan, where deep consultations were conducted to advance regional stability.
