National ( The cow news digital ) The Lahore High Court has issued a written order in a case involving Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of the Provincial Assembly Saqib Chadhar and actor Momina Iqbal, marking a significant development in the legal dispute linked to an alleged embezzlement of Rs8 million.

The case concerns a petition challenging an earlier order issued by a Justice of the Peace directing the registration of a criminal case over allegations of criminal breach of trust involving Rs8 million.

In its written decision, the Lahore High Court suspended the Justice of the Peace’s order to register the FIR, observing that the issues raised in the petition require detailed judicial examination. The court noted that the matter merits further consideration before any final decision is made.

Justice Abher Gul Khan issued the written order on a petition filed by Rimsha Iqbal. According to the petitioner, Saqib Chadhar had sought the registration of a criminal case alleging the misappropriation of Rs8 million. However, the petition argued that the Justice of the Peace ordered the registration of the case without first hearing the petitioner’s position.

The petitioner requested the High Court to declare the Justice of the Peace’s order unlawful and set it aside, maintaining that due legal procedure had not been followed before directing the registration of the case.

Following the written order, the Lahore High Court issued notices to Saqib Chadhar and the other respondents, seeking their responses to the petition. The court has adjourned further proceedings until September 14, when the matter will be taken up again for hearing.

The latest ruling does not determine the merits of the allegations but temporarily halts the implementation of the earlier order until the court completes its review of the legal issues raised by the parties.

The dispute has drawn public attention because of the involvement of a sitting provincial lawmaker and actor Momina Iqbal. The High Court’s upcoming hearings are expected to clarify the legal questions surrounding the registration of the FIR and the claims presented by both sides.
