National ( The cow news digital ) Police in Baghdadi have removed murder charges against alleged drug dealer Anmol, alias Pinky, in the final charge sheet of a high-profile case, substituting them with charges of culpable homicide (Qatl-i-Bis-Sabab) after forensic reports failed to establish a direct link to murder.
According to prosecution sources, the chemical analysis revealed the deceased died due to substance abuse rather than foul play. However, critical gaps in the investigation have prompted the prosecution to recommend shelving the case under Section 344 of the Code of Criminal Procedure until verifiable evidence emerges.
The final police report confirmed that the identity of the deceased remains unverified, as adequate samples were unavailable for DNA matching. Despite earlier directives from the prosecution to rectify core investigative flaws, police failed to produce key evidence, including CCTV footage, positive identification, or concrete proof linking the victim to drugs purchased from the suspect’s delivery rider.
Medical reports further complicated the case. While the victim’s stomach was clear of toxic substances or ingested drugs, blood samples tested positive for methamphetamine (“ice”). The medico-legal officer declared it a negative autopsy, noting that neither the physical examination nor the chemical analysis could conclusively establish the primary cause of death.
Prosecution officials stated that without direct medical or circumstantial evidence linking the suspect’s actions to the victim’s fatal overdose, the charge of culpable homicide cannot be legally sustained. Consequently, prosecutors have recommended keeping the case pending in official records until further investigation yields actionable proof.
