KARACHI — The Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) extending the operational closure of Pakistani airspace to all Indian-registered and operated aircraft until September 24, 2026.
According to the official NOTAM, the prohibition applies to all commercial and military aircraft owned, leased, or operated by Indian entities and citizens. The renewed restriction came into effect on August 18 and will remain enforced until 4:59 AM Pakistan Standard Time on September 24.
This latest directive marks the 16th consecutive NOTAM issued by aviation authorities since the airspace ban was initially implemented on April 23, 2025. Under the regulatory ban, no Indian flights are permitted to overfly or enter Pakistani airspace under any operational circumstances.
Aviation authorities noted that all regional air traffic control units have been updated regarding the timeline extension to ensure strict compliance with the airspace directives. The prolonged closure continues to require Indian carriers operating international routes to utilize alternate, longer flight corridors avoiding Pakistani territory.
