NEW YORK (The COW News Digital) United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has called for an immediate ceasefire in southern Lebanon and urged Israel to withdraw its forces from Lebanese territory amid escalating military activity in the region.
Guterres expressed deep concern over the worsening situation in southern Lebanon, including civilian casualties, displacement caused by evacuation orders and extensive destruction in affected areas.
In a statement shared on social media, the UN chief appealed to all parties involved in the conflict to immediately end hostilities and take steps to prevent further escalation.
