ISLAMABAD (The COW News Digital) Barrister Gohar, chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has criticized the Constitutional Court over proceedings concerning the medical treatment of PTI founder Imran Khan, saying the court should not have intervened in the matter.
Speaking about the case, Gohar said the court’s involvement had disappointed the public. He maintained that the issue surrounding Imran Khan’s medical treatment should have been handled without intervention from the Constitutional Court.
Gohar also discussed PTI’s ongoing political activities and said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was leading a street movement on the instructions of Imran Khan.
Addressing questions about the party’s planned long march, the PTI chairman said the demonstration would remain peaceful. He said the party did not intend to block roads or create disorder during the protest.
“We will hold a peaceful long march. No roads will be blocked and there will be no unrest,” Gohar said, while also calling on the government not to close roads as part of its response.
He argued that the authorities should allow PTI supporters to exercise their right to peaceful political activity. Referring to protests and political demonstrations held by current government leaders during PTI’s tenure, Gohar said his party should also be given permission to organize its activities.
Gohar recalled that members of the current ruling setup had staged similar demonstrations on March 14 during PTI’s time in government. He argued that PTI should receive comparable permission to hold its own political gatherings.
The PTI chairman again returned to the issue of Imran Khan’s medical treatment, reiterating his criticism of the Constitutional Court’s involvement. According to Gohar, the court should have avoided intervening in a matter concerning the former prime minister’s healthcare.
His remarks come as PTI continues to press its political demands while emphasizing that its proposed street movement and long march will remain peaceful. The party has repeatedly maintained that demonstrations should take place without violence, disruption or unnecessary confrontation.
