MARDAN (The COW News Digital) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Islami (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar vowed to march on Islamabad from multiple routes for the party’s planned September 27 demonstration, drawing a sharp response from the Ministry of Interior.
Addressing a workers’ convention in Mardan, Akbar stated that party supporters will enter the federal capital simultaneously via the Motorway, GT Road, the Margalla Hills, and Dera Ismail Khan. Referencing past political clashes, Akbar asserted that protesters will not retreat quietly this time, warning that demonstrators plan to turn Islamabad into “Somnath” if confronted.
Responding to Akbar’s remarks, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry declared that law enforcement will strictly enforce Islamabad High Court orders to maintain public order. Chaudhry stated that while peaceful citizens are free to enter the capital, any unlawful actions, violence, or threats to public safety will be met with firm state action.
“They claim they will turn Islamabad into Somnath, but they have already destroyed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Chaudhry remarked, accusing PTI leadership of revealing violent intentions ahead of the scheduled demonstration.
The exchange highlights escalating political tensions ahead of PTI’s planned nationwide long march toward the federal capital on September 27.
