ISLAMABAD (The COW News Digital ) Senate Opposition Leader Raja Nasir Abbas condemned the arrest of Aleema Khan, asserting that her detention demonstrates the government’s growing anxiety over the planned September 27 political march.
Speaking during a telephonic conversation with Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Niazi, Senator Abbas described Aleema Khan’s arrest as an unconstitutional and illegal tactic aimed at suppressing political opposition. He noted that Aleema Khan was not leading a protest when detained, but was simply leaving her residence for personal routine matters when law enforcement intercepted her.

Abbas asserted that labeling a female citizen as a threat to national law and order reflects administrative desperation. He maintained that restrictive measures and crackdowns will fail to deter public participation, predicting instead that the government’s actions will mobilize higher turnout for the planned political demonstration on September 27.
Noreen Niazi expressed gratitude for the opposition’s support, stating that arrests and administrative crackdowns would not diminish their resolve to pursue constitutional rights.
The Opposition Leader demanded the immediate release of Aleema Khan, cautioning that continued heavy-handed tactics by the Punjab government will only worsen political polarization across the country.
