KOHAT(The COW News Digital) Police officials in Kohat said an attack on a police check post in Shadipur was successfully repelled after suspected militants opened fire on security personnel, leaving seven police officers injured.
District Police Officer (DPO) Mazhar Iqbal said the attackers targeted the police check post in Shadipur. Police personnel responded immediately to the attack and engaged the assailants in retaliatory fire.
According to the police, seven officers sustained injuries during the exchange of fire. The injured personnel were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment. Officials said the injured officers were being provided medical care.
DPO Mazhar Iqbal said the police response forced the attackers to flee the area. The assailants escaped under the cover of the exchange of fire, prompting security forces to launch a search operation in the surrounding areas.
