National The cow news digital ) A lawyer representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has claimed that power of attorney documents sent to Adiala Jail authorities for signatures have gone missing, raising concerns over delays in legal proceedings.
According to the lawyer, Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, the legal paperwork required for signing was dispatched to Adiala Jail through official channels, but the documents have not been returned as expected. He alleged that jail authorities informed him that while the documents were received, they were later reported missing within the facility.
In response to the situation, the lawyer has written another formal letter to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, requesting immediate action to locate the documents and facilitate the signing process. Copies of the letter have also been sent to the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Secretary to the Chief Justice, and the Inspector General of Prisons.
The correspondence highlights urgency, stating that the delay is affecting the legal right of the incarcerated former prime minister to pursue pending appeals. The lawyer emphasized that time-sensitive court deadlines are approaching and any further delay could impact access to justice.
He further described the alleged mishandling of legal documents as serious administrative negligence, arguing that it obstructs the legal process and raises questions about procedural responsibility within the jail system.
The issue of signing legal documents has reportedly remained unresolved for several days, prompting repeated requests for immediate action to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Meanwhile, separate reports from Adiala Jail indicated that a four-member medical team conducted a detailed eye examination of Bushra Bibi, wife of Imran Khan. The team included specialists from PIMS Hospital Islamabad and Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital Rawalpindi.
According to jail sources, the medical team examined her for approximately two hours after she reportedly complained of vision-related issues. Doctors carried out the examination using advanced medical equipment and later prescribed eye drops and medication.
