World ( The cow news digital ) Iran has stated that it remains open to diplomatic engagement, but has insisted that the United States must first change its “threatening and expansionist” tone before meaningful dialogue can take place.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in recent diplomatic contacts that Tehran is willing to keep the door open for negotiations, but only under conditions that respect Iran’s sovereignty and regional position. He emphasized that diplomacy remains an option, but not under pressure or intimidation.
According to Iranian state media, Araghchi held a series of telephone conversations with foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Iraq, and Azerbaijan. During these discussions, he briefed them on Iran’s position regarding ongoing tensions involving the United States and Israel, as well as Iran’s recent steps toward de-escalation in the region.
He reportedly informed regional counterparts that Iran seeks stability and does not oppose diplomatic solutions, but expects a change in approach from Washington. The Iranian foreign minister stressed that continued hostile rhetoric from the United States undermines prospects for constructive engagement.
Separately, Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that Pakistan is currently serving as the official intermediary in communication between Tehran and Washington. The ministry noted that if formal negotiations are arranged, they will be announced through official diplomatic channels.
The announcement comes at a time of heightened regional sensitivity, with ongoing geopolitical tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Diplomatic observers suggest that backchannel communications through regional partners such as Pakistan may play a key role in reducing escalation risks.
Iran has repeatedly stated in recent months that it favors dialogue over confrontation, provided that discussions are based on mutual respect and non-interference. However, officials continue to criticize what they describe as coercive policies and military pressure from Western powers.
While no formal negotiation date has been confirmed, diplomatic engagement through third-party mediators indicates that indirect communication channels remain active. Analysts believe that regional states may continue to facilitate dialogue efforts to prevent further escalation.
For now, Iran maintains that its position is open but conditional, placing responsibility on the United States to adjust its diplomatic posture before any direct talks can proceed.
