National ( The cow news digital ) Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi met Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House in Peshawar on Sunday, where both leaders discussed the province’s overall law and order situation and key administrative matters.

The meeting focused on a range of pressing issues affecting the province, including security challenges, economic pressures, and inter-provincial coordination. Officials present at the meeting included senior bureaucrats and members of the provincial cabinet, highlighting the importance of the discussions.

According to details, the two leaders also exchanged views on the closure of CNG stations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a move that has raised concerns among transporters and the general public due to rising fuel costs and supply disruptions. Another major topic of discussion was the supply of wheat from Punjab and Sindh to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was informed that logistical constraints, particularly related to inter-provincial transport routes, have affected the smooth availability of wheat in the province, leading to increased prices in local markets. The governor noted that Sindh has shown willingness to supply wheat, but transportation hurdles remain a key challenge.

The participants also reviewed arrangements for the upcoming South Asia Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Conference, which is being hosted in the province for the first time. Officials described the event as a significant milestone for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s parliamentary and political profile.

In addition, discussions were held regarding salary increases for police personnel in the province. The governor directed relevant authorities to examine compensation packages in other provinces and submit recommendations for improving pay and benefits for KP police officers, with the aim of strengthening law enforcement capacity.

Both sides agreed on the need for improved coordination between provincial institutions to address governance challenges and ensure stability in the region. The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue dialogue on key administrative and public welfare issues.
