National ( The cow news digital ) Maryam Nawaz Sharif has reiterated her government’s commitment to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, emphasizing the importance of diversity, dialogue, and national identity.
In her message on the occasion of the International Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, the Chief Minister said that observing such days helps raise public awareness about the value of dialogue, mutual respect, and inclusive development in society. She noted that individuals who understand the importance of civilization, culture, and shared heritage deserve appreciation and recognition.
Maryam Nawaz stated that Pakistan is a country enriched with diverse cultures, languages, traditions, and values. She described cultural diversity as a defining element of national identity and an essential part of the country’s civilizational heritage. According to her, this diversity plays a key role in promoting unity, harmony, tolerance, and positive social values among communities.
She further highlighted that Punjab’s cultural heritage is globally recognized and serves as a strong identity marker for the province. The Department of Information and Culture, she said, is actively engaged in efforts to protect and promote cultural assets across the province.
The Chief Minister also stressed that safeguarding cultural traditions and supporting artisans and creative professionals remain among her government’s priorities. She added that empowering skilled workers and providing them access to both national and international markets is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the cultural economy.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that cultural preservation is not only about protecting historical traditions but also about encouraging creativity and ensuring that future generations remain connected to their roots. She said that continued investment in cultural development would help promote a more inclusive and progressive society.
