National ( The cow news digital ) Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas has called for political dialogue, stating that the decision to pursue negotiations should not be seen as a sign of weakness. He emphasized that Pakistan’s ongoing political and economic challenges require meaningful engagement between all stakeholders to move the country forward.

Speaking to the media after a parliamentary party meeting of opposition groups, he said the political crisis in the country is deepening with each passing day, placing an increasing burden on the public. He stressed that the purpose of dialogue is to stabilize the system and bring governance back on track, adding that the supremacy of the constitution must be ensured in Pakistan.

Raja Nasir Abbas further stated that all political prisoners being held are innocent and should be released immediately. He questioned whether dissenting voices were no longer acceptable in the country, highlighting concerns over shrinking political space for opposition parties.

He remarked that religious and spiritual figures are revered in society, but political leaders should not be placed beyond criticism. According to him, citizens are increasingly unable to express their views freely, which is worsening tensions across the political landscape.

The opposition leader stressed that dialogue is essential if the country is to function effectively, calling it one of the primary responsibilities of the government. He urged the Prime Minister to directly engage with opposition members in Parliament, questioning whether it is not the government’s duty to help steer the country out of crisis.

He reiterated that the opposition is willing to engage in negotiations, but insisted that such talks must be conducted with dignity and respect. He added that constructive political engagement is the only way to address the widening trust gap between institutions and political forces.
