National ( The cow news digital ) Early hearing petitions have been filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking a prompt review of the sentence suspension requests for human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband, Hadi Ali Chatha, in connection with the controversial tweets case.
The miscellaneous petitions were submitted through defense counsels Faisal Siddiqui Advocate and Zainab Janjua Advocate. The legal team submitted that both main petitions were previously scheduled for hearing on July 24.
The filed applications highlighted that the prosecution had earlier raised objections regarding the maintainability of the suspension petitions. However, the court has already dismissed the prosecution’s objections.
Advocating for a swift legal process, the petitioners urged the high court to fix the sentence suspension petitions for an early hearing during the week commencing July 27.
