National ( The cow news digital ) Sindh Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani launched a blistering attack on the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday, accusing the party of securing power through heavy electoral manipulation and illegitimacy.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader asserted that public awareness regarding the February general elections is absolute. He claimed that the electorate had overwhelmingly rejected the PML-N, alleging that top leaders—including Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz—were declared victorious through systemic rigging.
“Everyone in the country knows that PML-N lost the elections decisively,” Ghani stated. “Those sitting on charity seats have no moral high ground to criticize us. If anyone attempts to steal our public mandate, we will continue to expose them.”
Touching upon the contentious issue of administrative restructuring, the minister dismissed suggestions of dividing Sindh. He emphasized that the demand for new provinces originates from Punjab, not Sindh. Ghani clarified that under the Constitution of Pakistan, creating a new province requires a two-thirds majority resolution passed specifically by the concerned provincial assembly.
Ghani also responded firmly to recent critical remarks made by Punjab provincial ministers regarding Sindh’s infrastructure and governance. Expressing disappointment over their remarks, he invited the Punjab leadership to visit Sindh and inspect state-funded public welfare projects firsthand rather than issuing uninformed statements driven by political bias.
Highlighting achievements in the healthcare sector, Ghani pointed to renowned institutes such as the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), and the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences. He noted that these facilities provide free, world-class medical treatment to thousands of patients daily from across Pakistan, including Punjab.
Addressing concerns regarding operational bottlenecks at the Karachi Port, the provincial minister suggested that Punjab ministers direct their grievances toward the federal government. He remarked that by raising issues regarding port management, the provincial ministers in Punjab were inadvertently charge-sheeting their own central administration in Islamabad.
