National ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has claimed that his party secured 15 seats in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections after what he described as post-election “adjustments.” Speaking to the media, he said PTI had fielded 22 candidates in the polls and maintained that the final tally reflected a significant public mandate in the party’s favour.

Barrister Gohar asserted that even after “all calculations,” PTI emerged victorious on 15 seats, adding that any attempt to reduce or reallocate seats would be unacceptable. He emphasized that the party believes governance should rest with those who receive a clear mandate from the public. He further stated that PTI would not consider forming a government with parties it accuses of undermining electoral legitimacy, including the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

Rejecting reports of internal divisions, he denied the existence of any forward bloc within PTI. When asked about being frequently targeted during political controversies, he responded with a brief pause and laughter, avoiding a direct comment.

Referring to the upcoming budget session expected on June 12, Barrister Gohar said a parliamentary committee would decide PTI’s strategy. He noted that inflation and rising utility bills have placed heavy pressure on citizens, making budget relief a priority. He also indicated that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi would take the final decision on the party’s approach to the budget.

He added that efforts were underway to arrange a meeting between the party leadership and PTI’s founding chairman before the budget session. Gohar criticized the prolonged restriction on meetings, claiming that party leaders have been unable to meet their leader for over 34 weeks, calling the situation concerning from a humanitarian perspective.

He also rejected allegations against PTI leadership, stating that labeling political opponents in extreme terms is unacceptable. While reiterating support for peaceful protest and constitutional rights, he said the party opposes violence and unlawful action.

On regional matters, he described the issue of migrant seats in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as constitutional and stressed that political problems should be resolved through dialogue. He also expressed respect for the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.

Meanwhile, jail sources at Adiala Prison reported that a 45-minute meeting took place between PTI’s founding chairman and Bushra Bibi, during which both inquired about each other’s wellbeing.
