National ( The cow news digital ) Tensions within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) escalated after an internal dispute between party lawmakers reportedly led to a physical altercation outside Adiala Jail, with new details now emerging about the cause of the incident.

The clash involved PTI Members of National Assembly Iqbal Afridi and Sahibzada Sibghatullah, and is said to have roots in disagreements that began during a recent National Assembly session. The issue reportedly intensified when Iqbal Afridi raised a point of order related to quorum, which angered PTI parliamentary leader Junaid Akbar, according to party insiders.

The situation reportedly became more tense during informal interactions outside parliamentary proceedings, eventually leading to confrontation between the lawmakers. Sources indicate that Sahibzada Sibghatullah attempted to intervene and prevent the situation from escalating further between Junaid Akbar and Iqbal Afridi.

However, the dispute did not end there. Reports suggest that Iqbal Afridi later became further agitated and allegedly called additional supporters to the scene outside Adiala Jail in what is described as an attempt to respond to the earlier confrontation.

The incident drew attention within the party’s internal leadership and was subsequently discussed during a parliamentary party meeting chaired by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. The leadership reportedly expressed concern over growing internal divisions and stressed the need for immediate reconciliation among party members.

Party sources say that efforts are currently underway to resolve the disagreements through internal consultations. Lawmakers are reportedly being encouraged to set aside personal disputes and focus on maintaining party discipline, particularly at a time when PTI is navigating significant political and parliamentary challenges.

The incident has highlighted ongoing tensions within PTI’s parliamentary ranks, where differences over procedural matters and leadership roles have occasionally spilled into public view. Party insiders acknowledge that while disagreements are not uncommon in political organizations, the recent escalation has raised concerns about internal cohesion.

Despite the dispute, PTI leadership has emphasized the importance of unity and adherence to parliamentary conduct. Discussions are expected to continue in upcoming meetings aimed at preventing further incidents and restoring coordination among elected representatives.
