Beijing(The COW News Digital)China has strongly opposed the use of force in international relations in response to US threats of possible military action against Iran, calling instead for dialogue and political solutions to resolve ongoing tensions.
The statement came as protests continue across Iran and reports of casualties draw increasing international attention. Speaking at a regular media briefing, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Beijing firmly opposes the use or threat of military force and stresses the importance of respecting national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
The Chinese official expressed hope that Iran’s government and people would be able to overcome the current challenges facing the country. He said China supports efforts to maintain stability, public order, and social harmony in Iran during what he described as a difficult period.
“China consistently believes that the use of force is not the correct approach in international relations,” the spokesperson said, adding that all countries must adhere to international law and avoid actions that could further destabilize the region.

The spokesperson further emphasized that disputes and conflicts should be resolved through negotiations and political processes rather than military means. “Any conflict should be settled through dialogue and consultation, not through force,” he said, underscoring China’s long-standing diplomatic position.
China’s comments follow remarks by US President Donald Trump, who recently warned that Washington might consider taking action against Iran even before negotiations take place. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One while traveling from Florida to Washington, Trump said that although Iran had shown interest in talks and arrangements for meetings were underway, the United States retained “very powerful options,” including military action.
President Trump has adopted a hardline stance toward Tehran amid escalating unrest in Iran and growing international concern over the government’s response to protests. His comments have fueled speculation about possible US intervention, prompting reactions from several regional and global powers.
Analysts say China’s response reflects its broader foreign policy approach, which prioritizes stability, non-interference, and diplomatic engagement, particularly in sensitive regions such as the Middle East. Beijing has significant economic and strategic interests in the region and has repeatedly warned against actions that could lead to wider conflict.
Observers also note that China’s call for restraint aligns with similar positions taken by other countries, including Turkey, which have cautioned that instability or external intervention in Iran could have far-reaching consequences for regional and global security.
As tensions surrounding Iran continue to rise, China’s remarks add to international calls for de-escalation and renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
