Erdogan Urges Iran-US Ceasefire Talks to Continue

World ( The cow news digital ) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged that efforts to advance Iran–US ceasefire negotiations must continue, warning that regional tensions should not be allowed to derail the diplomatic process.

Addressing a parliamentary meeting of his ruling Justice and Development Party in Ankara, Erdogan said that the current opportunity for a ceasefire should be utilized effectively. He stressed that negotiations cannot be conducted with hostility and “closed fists,” emphasizing the need for a constructive diplomatic environment.

The Turkish president stated that Israel is reportedly unhappy with the ongoing ceasefire discussions and warned that it should not be allowed to sabotage the process. He also said that continued Israeli military actions in Lebanon are undermining prospects for lasting peace in the region.

Erdogan highlighted that Turkey is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions, extending ceasefires, and encouraging sustained dialogue among relevant parties. He reiterated that peace in the region can only be achieved through inclusive diplomatic efforts that avoid further escalation.

In his remarks, Erdogan also responded to recent criticism from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asserting that no one has the right to question Turkey’s position or influence. He said Turkey is not an ordinary state and will continue to defend its stance on regional and global issues.

The Turkish leader reaffirmed Ankara’s consistent support for the Palestinian cause, stating that Turkey will continue to speak out against what he described as injustices in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and Lebanon. He said Turkey will remain a voice for civilians affected by conflict, particularly children and families suffering in war zones.

Erdogan further emphasized Turkey’s guiding principle of “peace at home, peace in the region, and peace in the world,” stating that the country remains committed to acting as a mediator and supporter of diplomatic solutions.

He concluded by reaffirming Turkey’s belief in dignity, sovereignty, and resistance against injustice, adding that the nation will continue its diplomatic efforts with determination and consistency amid ongoing regional challenges.
