World ( The cow news digital ) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on the European Union to play a constructive role in reducing tensions between Tehran and Washington, emphasizing that diplomatic engagement remains the only viable path toward resolving ongoing disputes.
According to a statement shared via Iran’s official channels, President Pezeshkian made the remarks during a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. He urged European leaders to encourage the United States to adhere to international principles and support efforts aimed at de-escalating regional and political tensions.
The Iranian president stressed that Iran is willing to continue negotiations within the framework of international law, noting that any approach based on pressure, threats, or military action only complicates the situation further and undermines prospects for a lasting agreement.
He added that excessive rhetoric or deviation from established global norms creates obstacles to meaningful progress in diplomatic talks. Pezeshkian reiterated that sustainable solutions can only be achieved through mutual respect and adherence to international agreements.
During the conversation, he also highlighted Europe’s potential role as a mediator between Iran and the United States, suggesting that the European Union could help encourage Washington to follow diplomatic principles and avoid escalation.
Pezeshkian further criticized what he described as coercive policies, arguing that such strategies not only fail to resolve underlying issues but also contribute to increased instability in the region. He stated that repeated reliance on pressure-based approaches has historically deepened crises rather than solving them.
The Iranian president’s remarks come amid continued geopolitical tensions involving Iran, the United States, and other global powers, particularly in relation to security concerns and regional stability in the Middle East.

As discussions continue, Iran maintains that it remains open to dialogue while insisting that negotiations must be based on equality, respect for sovereignty, and adherence to international law.
