World ( The cow news digital ) Iran has stated that Pakistan is currently playing the only formal and official mediating role in ongoing efforts to secure a ceasefire agreement with the United States, while Qatar and several other regional partners are contributing through informal diplomatic channels and communication support.

According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, Tehran has been engaged in continuous diplomatic exchanges aimed at reducing tensions with Washington. Speaking during a weekly press briefing in the Iranian capital, he emphasized that multiple countries have expressed concern over escalating hostilities and have reached out to Iran in an attempt to facilitate dialogue.

Baghaei highlighted that although various friendly nations maintain active communication with both Iran and the United States, Pakistan remains the sole “official intermediary” responsible for structured message delivery between the two sides. He added that Islamabad has been consistently involved in relaying diplomatic proposals and facilitating indirect negotiations aimed at de-escalation.

Reports from Iranian state media and international outlets suggest that Pakistan has played a significant behind-the-scenes role in recent weeks, acting as a channel for exchanging ceasefire-related proposals. One such peace initiative reportedly drafted by Iran was conveyed to Washington through Pakistani intermediaries, underscoring Islamabad’s growing diplomatic relevance in the process.

The Iranian spokesperson further noted that Qatar, along with a few other regional actors with strong ties to both Tehran and Washington, continues to offer suggestions and diplomatic insights. However, these engagements remain supplementary rather than formal mediation efforts.

Iran also reiterated that its proposed peace framework includes provisions for ending hostilities, lifting economic sanctions, ensuring regional stability, and restoring access to Iranian assets abroad. Tehran stressed that while it remains open to dialogue, its national interests remain the top priority in any potential negotiations.

Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Iran’s latest peace proposal, describing it as unrealistic and unacceptable. He further suggested that the current ceasefire initiative was weakening and nearing collapse, raising concerns about the future of diplomatic progress.

Amid these developments, reports indicate that a potential round of Iran–U.S. discussions could take place in Islamabad in the coming days, reflecting Pakistan’s central diplomatic role in facilitating indirect engagement between the two sides.

The situation remains fluid, with regional and international stakeholders closely monitoring whether diplomatic efforts can prevent further escalation.
