World ( The cow news digital ) Sazgar Engineering Works has announced the trial production of its new hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV), “Tank-500 Hi4-T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT,” expected to begin by the end of March 2026.

According to a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the vehicle will be assembled in completely knocked down (CKD) form and will be available in both plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) variants. This marks Sazgar’s formal entry into the hybrid vehicle segment.

Earlier, the company had initiated bookings for the SUV in January, setting the price of the HEV variant at Rs. 20.5 million and the PHEV variant at Rs. 22.5 million. Booking amounts were fixed at Rs. 3 million and Rs. 3.5 million respectively.

Industry experts explain that plug-in hybrid vehicles combine a petrol engine with a larger battery pack, allowing the vehicle to run on electric power for limited distances before switching to hybrid mode for extended driving.

Sazgar has also completed the expansion of its four-wheeler production facility, with an investment of Rs. 6.5 billion. The company is further investing in a modern automated paint shop and additional infrastructure upgrades to support increased production capacity.
