World ( The cow news digital ) U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that a new de-escalation understanding has been reached between Israel and Hezbollah following high-level communications involving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and representatives linked to the Lebanese group.
In a statement posted on his social media platform, Trump said he held what he described as a “highly productive” phone conversation with Netanyahu, after which an agreement was reportedly reached to halt Israeli military operations targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. According to Trump, the arrangement also includes a pause in hostilities by Hezbollah.
Trump further asserted that through indirect channels involving senior intermediaries, discussions were held with Hezbollah representatives. He claimed these exchanges contributed to a mutual understanding aimed at reducing tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border.
The U.S. president stated that, under this understanding, Israeli forces would not enter Beirut, and troops reportedly positioned for operations in southern Lebanon, including the Dahieh district—known as a stronghold of Hezbollah—were ordered to withdraw. He added that no further military advancement into Lebanese territory would take place.
According to Trump’s remarks, both sides have agreed to halt attacks, signaling what he described as a potential step toward broader stabilization in the region. He suggested that this development could mark a significant shift in the ongoing cycle of cross-border strikes that have intensified in recent months.
However, despite these claims, there has been no official confirmation from either the Israeli government or Hezbollah regarding any ceasefire agreement or operational withdrawal. Israeli authorities have previously stated that their military actions were in response to alleged violations by Hezbollah, including continued attacks on northern Israel.
The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions, with diplomatic efforts frequently complicated by conflicting reports and rapidly evolving military developments. Earlier reports indicated that Israeli leadership had authorized strikes in southern Beirut following accusations of ceasefire breaches.
Iran, which maintains close ties with Hezbollah, has also reportedly signaled concerns over the situation, with suggestions that ongoing diplomatic engagement with the United States could be reconsidered if escalation continues.
As of now, the situation remains fluid, and independent verification of Trump’s claims has not been established by official state channels or international mediators.
