Washington(The COW News Digital)US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, saying the United States would take “very severe action” if Iranian authorities execute detained protesters amid ongoing unrest in the country.
In an interview with US media, President Trump said he had not received any confirmed reports of executions so far. However, he stressed that Washington was closely monitoring the situation and would respond forcefully if executions of protesters were carried out.
“If Iran executes protesters, the consequences will be extremely serious,” Trump said. “We don’t want to see what’s happening in Iran continue, but when you’re talking about thousands of people being killed and the possibility of executions, the outcome for Iran will not be good.”

The remarks come at a time of heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, as Iran faces widespread demonstrations against the government. Rights groups and activists have accused Iranian authorities of using excessive force to suppress dissent, allegations Tehran has repeatedly denied.
President Trump has previously taken a hardline stance on Iran, openly criticizing its leadership and expressing support for anti-government protesters. In earlier statements, he had urged demonstrators to take control of state institutions, claiming that American assistance would arrive soon — comments that drew sharp reactions from Iranian officials, who accused the US of interference in internal affairs.
In his latest comments, Trump also advised US citizens and allied nationals to leave Iran immediately, citing growing instability and security risks. The US State Department has echoed this guidance in recent advisories, urging Americans to avoid travel to Iran and to depart if they are currently in the country.
Iranian authorities, meanwhile, have accused foreign powers of fueling unrest and have warned against what they describe as external attempts to destabilize the country. State media has reported that several individuals have been arrested on charges related to violence and sabotage during protests.
Analysts say Trump’s warning signals a possible escalation in US pressure on Iran, particularly if reports of executions are confirmed. While no specific measures were outlined, past US responses have included economic sanctions, diplomatic isolation, and military posturing.
As tensions remain high, the international community continues to call for restraint, transparency, and respect for human rights, urging all sides to avoid steps that could further inflame an already volatile situation.
