Washington(The COW News Digital) US President Donald Trump has said there is no plan for mass executions in Iran, but warned that Washington would respond strongly if violence against protesters continues, issuing another public caution to Tehran amid heightened regional tensions.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, President Trump said the United States had received information from what he described as “very important and credible sources” indicating that deaths in Iran had stopped and that there were no plans to carry out large-scale executions. He added that if such actions were to occur, the US response would be firm.

“We are being told by reliable sources that the killing has stopped and that there will be no executions,” Trump said. “If that turns out not to be true, we will be very angry.”

Despite the reported assurances, the US president reiterated his warning to Iranian authorities, saying continued violence against demonstrators would not be ignored. He stressed that Washington was closely monitoring developments on the ground and would assess Iran’s actions rather than rely solely on statements.

When asked by a journalist whether military or other action against Iran was now off the table, Trump responded cautiously, saying the situation would be evaluated based on Iran’s conduct. “We will see what Iran does and judge accordingly,” he said, adding that the information received so far had been “encouraging.”

The comments come amid ongoing unrest in Iran, where protests have drawn international attention and concern over the treatment of demonstrators. Western governments, including the United States, have repeatedly urged Iranian authorities to respect human rights and allow peaceful expression.

During the same media interaction, President Trump also addressed unrelated international issues. Referring to Venezuela, he said a person accused of leaking sensitive information had been arrested. According to Trump, a Pentagon contractor was taken into custody for allegedly leaking classified details related to a Venezuela operation.

Trump also briefly commented on Greenland, stating that the United States “needs Greenland” and that developments related to the territory would be watched closely. He did not elaborate further on the nature of US interests there.

Reflecting on his foreign policy record, the US president claimed that he had helped stop eight wars around the world through trade and economic pressure, describing diplomacy and economic leverage as key tools of his administration’s approach.

Trump’s latest remarks underscore Washington’s continued focus on Iran, combining warnings with cautious optimism, as the US administration signals that future steps will depend on Tehran’s actions in the coming days.
