World ( The cow news digital ) The United States has reiterated its firm commitment to ensuring the security of Arab Gulf states, warning Iran that any failure to honor agreements could lead to a range of policy responses. The statement was made during a regional visit by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is currently touring Gulf countries following recent diplomatic developments with Iran.
Speaking to journalists in Kuwait, Rubio outlined Washington’s position on Iran, maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, and regional stability in the Middle East. He said that Gulf leaders have expressed confidence in US security guarantees and that no concerns were raised during his meetings regarding American commitments to regional allies.
Rubio emphasized that the United States remains fully committed to protecting its Gulf partners, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait. He stated that US policy in the region is designed to ensure that no agreement with Iran compromises the security or strategic interests of American allies.
Referring to ongoing negotiations with Tehran, Rubio described recent sanctions relief as temporary and conditional. He said Iran is expected to fully comply with commitments made during discussions in Switzerland. Continued compliance, he noted, could support diplomatic progress, while any violation would prompt strong responses from Washington.
He further stated that US President Donald Trump retains multiple options if Iran fails to meet its obligations, including the possible reinstatement of sanctions and other measures. The US administration, he added, is closely monitoring developments and will act in accordance with its national interests and those of its allies.
On maritime issues, Rubio strongly opposed any attempt by Iran to impose fees or restrictions on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He described the waterway as a critical international trade route and said any such move would be widely rejected by the global community.

The Secretary of State also addressed regional security concerns in Lebanon, stating that Israel does not claim Lebanese territory and that stability would improve as the Lebanese military strengthens its control over national territory. He added that reducing the influence of armed non-state groups remains a key objective for regional stability.
Rubio concluded by stating that discussions with Gulf leaders were open, constructive, and transparent, with continued coordination expected on all major security and diplomatic issues in the region.
