Manama(The COW News Digital) Following the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain has accepted an invitation from the United States to join the newly established Gaza Peace Board. The decision was confirmed by Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which said King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa personally approved the participation.

According to the ministry, Bahrain’s involvement reflects the kingdom’s commitment to fully supporting US President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza, which aims to protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. The government expressed hope that the board would successfully achieve its objectives, including fostering cooperation, supporting stability, and promoting prosperity and development for all parties involved.

The US has reportedly invited several global leaders to participate in the board, which requires a one-time membership fee of $1 billion for a permanent seat. The charter stipulates that member states’ participation is limited to a maximum of three years, with renewal subject to the chairman’s approval. While initially focused on Gaza reconstruction efforts, the board’s charter does not limit its scope strictly to the region, allowing broader engagement in peace and development initiatives.

Observers note that Bahrain’s acceptance signals growing regional support for the US-led initiative and indicates an interest among Gulf nations in playing an active role in Palestinian affairs. Officials stress that participation will include diplomatic, financial, and policy collaboration to ensure effective oversight and implementation of peace and development projects in Gaza.

The establishment of the Gaza Peace Board, backed by leading international actors, represents a new multilateral approach to addressing long-standing challenges in the region. With Bahrain and the UAE on board, the initiative aims to combine regional support with global leadership to facilitate reconstruction, security, and sustainable development for the Palestinian population.
