World ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 has witnessed controversy after Lahore Qalandars’ opening batter Fakhar Zaman was formally charged with a Level Three offence related to ball tampering.
According to an official statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Fakhar Zaman has been accused of violating Article 41.3 of the league’s playing conditions, which relates to altering the condition of the cricket ball during play.
The PCB confirmed that disciplinary proceedings were initiated after match officials raised concerns during a recent PSL fixture. The matter was reviewed by match referee Roshan Mahanama, who conducted a formal hearing in accordance with the code of conduct.
Fakhar Zaman has denied the allegations leveled against him. The board stated that further hearings will take place within the next 48 hours, after which the match referee is expected to announce a final decision.
The controversy emerged during a match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, where umpires imposed a five-run penalty on Lahore Qalandars due to changes in the condition of the ball during Karachi’s innings.

In the same match, Karachi Kings successfully chased a target of 129 runs in the final over, securing a four-wicket victory over Lahore Qalandars. Lahore Qalandars had earlier posted 128 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
The incident has sparked discussion among fans and analysts, as ball tampering allegations are considered serious breaches of cricket regulations and can carry significant disciplinary consequences if proven.
The PCB is expected to release further updates once the disciplinary process concludes.
