World ( The cow news digital ) At least three people were killed and 21 others injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated at a restaurant in the Russian capital, Moscow, on Sunday.

According to Russian media reports citing law enforcement, the blast occurred at approximately 8:00 PM local time when a woman attempted to enter the venue carrying an explosive device. The bomb detonated at the entrance after a security guard intercepted the woman and tried to block her entry.

Emergency response teams rushed to the scene to transport the injured to nearby medical facilities, with several victims reported to be in critical condition.

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the timing of the explosion in an official social media statement, adding that specialized investigative units were dispatched to collect evidence from the site.

Following the detonation, security forces cordoned off the surrounding streets and implemented heightened security measures across the district while an investigation into the attack remains underway.
