TEHRAN — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that ongoing negotiations and diplomatic efforts have compelled the United States to seek a reconciliation with Iran, asserting that the current geopolitical climate offers an ideal window to reach a formal agreement.
Addressing a press conference in Tehran, President Pezeshkian pointed out that under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, it was imperative for the US to adhere to jointly prepared guidelines formulated by Iran and Oman. When Washington failed to follow these terms, Iran was compelled to issue a direct response. He noted that dealing with such protocol violations typically requires a specialized team, a framework that is currently being actively developed.
Expressing optimism, Pezeshkian voiced confidence that Iran will navigate this path with national dignity and pride. Reaffirming Tehran’s stance, he stated that diplomacy has successfully forced Washington toward reconciliation, making this the best possible juncture to finalize an accord.
At the same time, the Iranian president maintained a firm ideological stance, labeling the US as a criminal and imperialist government and emphasizing that Iran’s fundamental approach toward American policies remains unchanged.
Pezeshkian also issued a stern warning to the public, cautioning that both the US and Israel recognize that military aggression alone cannot force Iranians into submission. Consequently, he warned that hostile powers may resort to exploiting domestic divisions, discord, and internal conflicts to achieve their objectives. He concluded by stressing that national unity and steadfast resistance are absolute prerequisites for safeguarding the nation’s security and defense capabilities.
