World ( The cow news digital ) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a significant reduction in petrol and diesel prices for July, marking the first fuel price cut in five months and offering relief to motorists following a prolonged period of higher costs.

Under the revised pricing, Super 98 petrol will now be sold at AED 3.40 per litre, representing a notable decline of nearly 14 percent compared with June’s rate. Diesel has also become cheaper, with the new price set at AED 3.60 per litre for July.

The latest adjustment follows several consecutive monthly increases that had raised transportation costs for residents and businesses across the country. The reduction is expected to ease fuel expenses for private motorists while also lowering operating costs for commercial transport and logistics companies.

Fuel prices in the UAE are reviewed every month in line with global oil market trends. The pricing mechanism reflects changes in international crude oil prices, refining costs, and other market factors, allowing domestic fuel rates to move in line with global conditions.

Industry observers say the latest reduction comes as international energy markets have shown greater stability in recent weeks. Fluctuations in crude oil prices, global demand, and geopolitical developments continue to influence fuel pricing decisions across the region.

The lower fuel prices are expected to provide financial relief to households that rely heavily on private vehicles for daily commuting. Businesses operating vehicle fleets may also benefit from reduced fuel expenses, potentially helping to contain transportation and delivery costs.

Economists note that while a single monthly reduction may not significantly alter broader inflation trends, lower fuel prices can have a positive impact on consumer spending and business operating costs if the decline continues in the coming months.

The UAE introduced a market-based fuel pricing system in 2015, replacing fixed government-set prices. Since then, petrol and diesel rates have been adjusted monthly to reflect developments in international energy markets, making fuel costs more responsive to changes in global crude oil prices.

Motorists across the Emirates will be able to purchase fuel at the revised rates throughout July, with the new prices taking effect from the beginning of the month.
