Lahore:(The Cow News Digital) Fast bowler Mohammad Ali has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the code of conduct during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 fixture, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohammad Ali was found guilty of a Level One offence for violating the PSL Code of Conduct during the second Eliminator match against Islamabad United. The disciplinary action was taken after match officials reviewed the incident that occurred in the 16th over of the game.

Officials stated that the fast bowler’s actions were deemed to have brought the game into disrepute, resulting in the penalty. The PCB confirmed that the sanction is in line with standard disciplinary procedures applied under PSL regulations.

The incident took place during a high-pressure phase of the match, where tensions were running high as both sides competed for a place in the final. Mohammad Ali’s conduct on the field was reviewed by the match referee, who concluded that it violated the established code governing player behavior.

Despite the disciplinary action, his team, Hyderabad Kingsmen, managed to secure a thrilling victory over Islamabad United in a closely contested Eliminator, booking their place in the final of PSL 11.

The PCB reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline and upholding the spirit of the game, stating that all players are expected to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations set out in the league’s code of conduct.

Level One offences typically include minor breaches such as inappropriate gestures, dissent, or conduct that may negatively impact the image of the sport. Penalties for such offences generally involve warnings or fines, depending on the severity of the incident.

The disciplinary committee emphasized that maintaining professionalism on the field is essential, especially in high-stakes matches where emotions can run high.

Mohammad Ali’s penalty serves as a reminder to all participating players in the PSL that disciplinary standards remain strictly enforced, regardless of match importance or competition stage.

The PCB is expected to continue monitoring player behavior closely as PSL 11 progresses toward its final stages, ensuring that the tournament maintains its reputation for competitive yet fair cricket.
