ISLAMABAD (The COW News Digital) Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry issued a stern warning regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned march, asserting that the state retains full authority to enforce its writ.
Addressing a television news program, the minister emphasized that federal authorities remain fully empowered to take all necessary measures during the proposed protest in the federal capital. He clarified that the government has no desire to resort to administrative force or coercive measures upon the opposition’s arrival in Islamabad. However, he noted that September 27 would clearly demonstrate how state authority is firmly established.
Directing sharp criticism at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration, the minister alleged that the chief minister consistently skips quarterly federal counter-terrorism reviews chaired by the prime minister. He argued that the provincial leadership only engages with federal authorities when demanding increased National Finance Commission (NFC) resource allocations.
Furthermore, Chaudhry highlighted that the federal government has transferred over Rs700 billion to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the NFC framework. He urged the provincial government to focus on financial accountability and public service delivery rather than organizing political demonstrations and protest marches.
