According to sources, PTI lawmakers discussed the planned August 5 demonstration during the parliamentary party meeting. The majority of members expressed support for holding a public gathering on the scheduled date instead of launching a broader protest movement.
Sources said that most lawmakers, including PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, favored organizing a one-day rally rather than initiating a large-scale campaign. Members reportedly argued that instead of a nationwide protest, the party should focus on holding a gathering at a single location.
During the meeting, lawmakers suggested limiting the protest activity to the rally itself and avoiding an extended movement. They were of the view that a focused event would be a more suitable approach under the current political circumstances.
The participants also discussed future coordination with allied political groups. According to sources, PTI members decided that the Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan would be informed about the plan for the rally.
The meeting comes as PTI continues to assess its political strategy amid ongoing tensions with the government. Party leadership has been holding consultations with lawmakers regarding public engagement and future political activities.
