World ( The cow news digital ) An Indian court has decided to frame charges against Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez and 15 other individuals in a high-profile money laundering case involving alleged proceeds of crime worth 200 crore rupees.

According to Indian media reports, the decision was taken by a court in New Delhi after reviewing evidence presented in connection with the case. The court observed that there is sufficient material on record, at first glance, to proceed against all accused under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The accused individuals include alleged mastermind Sukesh Chandrashekhar, his wife Leena Maria Paul, Pinky Irani, Deepak Ramnani, and several others. The court has directed all accused persons to appear before it on June 3 for further proceedings in the case.

Jacqueline Fernandez’s name has repeatedly surfaced during ongoing investigations into Chandrashekhar, who is accused of running a large-scale extortion and financial fraud racket. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has questioned the actress multiple times over her alleged connections with the accused.

Investigators claim that Sukesh Chandrashekhar allegedly collected large sums of money through extortion and fraudulent activities targeting several individuals. Authorities further allege that Jacqueline Fernandez received expensive gifts and financial benefits from him, a claim she has previously denied or contested during questioning.

The case has drawn significant media attention in India due to the involvement of a prominent film personality and the scale of the alleged financial crimes. The Enforcement Directorate continues to probe the wider network of individuals allegedly linked to the laundering of illicit funds.

Legal experts note that the framing of charges marks a crucial stage in the judicial process, where the court determines whether there is enough prima facie evidence to proceed with a full trial. However, all accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The proceedings scheduled for June 3 are expected to further clarify the direction of the case as the court begins formal trial preparations against the accused individuals.
