World ( The cow news digital ) The United States has warned that military operations against Iran could be resumed if necessary, as tensions remain high over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and regional security concerns.
Speaking at a security conference in Singapore, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stated that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances. He added that if the situation demands it, the United States is fully prepared to restart military operations against Iran.
Hegseth emphasized that the U.S. armed forces remain on high alert and maintain sufficient military stockpiles to respond to any potential escalation. He said American forces are fully capable of handling any operational requirements if conflict re-emerges.
He further stated that any future agreement with Iran would only be acceptable if it meets U.S. security expectations and is structured as a “good deal.” According to him, Washington remains committed to preventing nuclear proliferation in the Middle East and ensuring regional stability.
Addressing broader global security issues, Hegseth said the United States will continue to fulfill its responsibilities in maintaining international peace but will no longer bear disproportionate defense costs for wealthier allies. He stressed the need for a more balanced global security burden-sharing framework.
The U.S. official also referred to China’s growing influence in the Asia-Pacific region, warning that no single country should dominate the area. He said that attempts to establish regional hegemony could disrupt the balance of power and threaten stability in the Pacific.
Hegseth added that China must respect the United States’ strategic position in the region, highlighting ongoing geopolitical competition between the two major powers.
The remarks come amid heightened global attention on Iran’s nuclear program and shifting security dynamics involving the United States, China, and Middle Eastern states.
