London(The COW News Digital)The United Kingdom, France, and Germany have jointly called on Iranian security forces to refrain from using violence against protesters, expressing deep concern over the rising death toll during ongoing unrest in Iran. The three European powers strongly condemned the reported killings of demonstrators and urged Iranian authorities to respect fundamental human rights.
In a joint statement issued by French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister, and German Chancellor, the leaders said they were alarmed by reports of excessive force used against civilians. The statement emphasized that Iranian security forces must exercise restraint and avoid violence while dealing with public demonstrations.

The European leaders stressed that Iranian authorities bear the primary responsibility for protecting their population. They urged Tehran to guarantee freedom of expression and allow peaceful assembly so that citizens can exercise their rights without fear of retaliation, arrest, or harm.
“The right to peaceful protest is a cornerstone of human dignity and international law,” the statement said, adding that any attempt to suppress dissent through force would further escalate tensions and instability within the country.
The joint appeal comes as Iran continues to witness widespread anti-government protests, sparked by economic hardship and broader political grievances. According to international human rights organizations, demonstrations have now spread to more than 100 cities and towns across the country.
Reports indicate that at least 47 people have been killed during clashes between protesters and security forces, including several security personnel. Authorities have arrested approximately 2,500 individuals in connection with the unrest, while restrictions on internet access remain in place in many areas, limiting the flow of independent information.
A day earlier, the US president also warned Iran against using lethal force against protesters, stating in an interview that Washington would respond strongly if demonstrators were killed. Iranian officials have rejected foreign criticism, describing such statements as interference in the country’s internal affairs.
Tehran has repeatedly insisted that security measures are necessary to maintain public order and has accused foreign governments of encouraging unrest. Iranian authorities maintain that external pressure only worsens the situation and undermines stability.
Despite these claims, European leaders reiterated their call for dialogue and restraint, urging Iran to address public concerns through peaceful and lawful means. They warned that continued violence could further isolate Iran diplomatically and deepen its internal crisis.
