Islamabad(The COW News Digital)Facebook has reportedly introduced a new and simplified monetization challenge for selected pages and accounts in Pakistan, making it easier for content creators to earn revenue in US dollars. The update is being seen as a significant opportunity for digital creators, freelancers, and influencers who previously struggled to meet stricter eligibility requirements.

According to details shared by users and digital media reports, the new monetization criteria appear to be less demanding compared to earlier conditions. In the past, creators were required to achieve milestones such as 10,000 followers along with approximately 600,000 minutes of watch time before becoming eligible for content monetization tools. These requirements often made it difficult for small and emerging pages to qualify.

Under the updated system being reported for certain accounts, Facebook is said to have introduced a simplified engagement-based target. Pages may now be required to achieve around 300,000 views within a 28-day period to unlock monetization features. If the target is met, eligible creators can activate monetization tools and begin earning revenue from their content.

The change, however, does not appear to be universal. Reports suggest that the updated criteria have only been rolled out to selected accounts and pages, meaning not all users will currently see or benefit from the new requirements. Facebook has not officially confirmed a global policy shift, and availability may vary depending on region, account type, and compliance with platform guidelines.

Digital creators in Pakistan have long relied on social media platforms as a source of income, particularly as freelancing and online content creation continue to grow in popularity. Monetization tools on Facebook, including ad revenue sharing and performance-based bonuses, have been a key source of earnings for many users.

Experts note that while the lowered threshold may encourage more creators to produce consistent content, success will still depend on engagement quality, adherence to community standards, and content originality. Pages must also comply with Facebook’s broader monetization policies to remain eligible.

The development has generated strong interest among social media users, especially young creators seeking alternative income sources in Pakistan’s expanding digital economy. However, analysts advise creators to verify eligibility directly through their Facebook dashboard, as rollout conditions may differ across accounts.
