Davos(The COW News Digital) China’s Vice Premier has called for greater fairness and equality in the global system, warning that a small group of powerful countries should not be allowed to secure special privileges based solely on their strength. Speaking at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, the Chinese leader stressed that the international community must reject a return to what he described as the “law of the jungle.”
Addressing political and business leaders from around the world, the Vice Premier emphasized that the global order should be governed by justice, equality, and the rule of law. He cautioned that allowing powerful nations to dominate international decision-making undermines stability and marginalizes weaker and developing countries. According to him, such practices fuel imbalance, mistrust, and long-term conflict.
The Chinese Vice Premier noted that the world is currently facing multiple overlapping challenges, including economic uncertainty, rising geopolitical tensions, and worsening environmental crises. These pressures, he said, make cooperation and dialogue more essential than ever. He argued that no single country can resolve these issues alone and that unilateral actions only deepen divisions within the international system.

He further stated that a stable and effective global order can only function when rules and regulations are applied equally to all nations, without exception. Granting immunity or special treatment to certain states, he warned, weakens international institutions and erodes confidence in global governance mechanisms.
Highlighting China’s position, the Vice Premier reiterated Beijing’s support for multilateralism as the foundation for global peace and development. He said that multilateral cooperation provides smaller and developing countries with a fair platform to voice their concerns and protect their legitimate interests. In contrast, dominance by a few powerful actors risks pushing the world toward confrontation rather than cooperation.
The Chinese leader also urged the international community to uphold the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. He stressed that respecting sovereignty, promoting peaceful dispute resolution, and ensuring inclusive development are essential for long-term global stability.
In his remarks, the Vice Premier reaffirmed China’s commitment to openness, cooperation, and shared development. He said China would continue to support dialogue-driven solutions, expand economic cooperation, and work with all countries to address global challenges in a balanced and constructive manner.
His comments come at a time of heightened global uncertainty, as nations grapple with economic slowdowns, security concerns, and climate-related risks. Observers at the forum noted that the speech reflects China’s broader call for a more inclusive and rules-based international system, one in which power does not outweigh principle.
