Tehran(The COW News Digital)Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, has accused the United States of attempting to create a pretext for military intervention in Iran.
In a letter to the UN Security Council, Iravani stated that US President Donald Trump is responsible for political instability and violence in Iran, putting the country’s sovereignty and national security at risk. “The actions of the United States and Israel have led to the deaths of innocent civilians,” he said.
The Iranian mission at the UN emphasized that US policies—including sanctions, threats, and fomenting unrest—are being used as a justification for possible military action. Iravani warned that such plans to change Iran’s system will ultimately fail.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticized the German Chancellor’s remarks on human rights. “Berlin is the worst place to lecture on human rights. Germany remained silent during the kidnapping of Venezuela’s president and the deaths of 70,000 people in Gaza. They should feel shame,” he said.
Iran’s accusations come amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington, with US officials warning of consequences if the Iranian government carries out violent crackdowns on protesters. Analysts say the letter underscores Iran’s diplomatic strategy to highlight perceived foreign interference while portraying itself as a victim of external pressure.
Observers note that such statements are likely aimed at rallying international opinion against potential US or Israeli military actions and reinforcing Iran’s position in diplomatic forums like the UN Security Council.
As the situation remains tense, global attention is focused on both the humanitarian impact of protests within Iran and the broader geopolitical ramifications of escalating US-Iran tensions.
