World ( The cow news digital ) Tehran: Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has declared that the future of the Persian Gulf will be brighter without the presence of the United States, stating that foreign elements no longer have a place in the region.
In a statement released by Iran’s state media on National Persian Gulf Day, Khamenei said that a new chapter is emerging in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz following what he described as the failure of American plans in the region. His remarks came amid rising tensions in the Middle East, nearly two months after the escalation of the US-Israel conflict involving Iran.
The message was published by Iran’s official news agency Islamic Republic News Agency during annual commemorations marking the withdrawal of Portuguese forces from the Strait of Hormuz in 1622.
Khamenei described the Strait of Hormuz as a region that has historically attracted foreign ambitions, referring to it as a place targeted by external powers for centuries. He said recent developments have demonstrated the resilience and determination of Iranian forces in defending the country’s strategic interests.
According to the Iranian leader, the future of the Persian Gulf should be shaped by regional nations rather than foreign military forces. He stressed that the destiny of Iran and its Gulf neighbors is interconnected and that peace, development, and prosperity can only be achieved through regional cooperation.
Khamenei directly blamed the United States for increasing instability in the region, arguing that American military presence and bases in Gulf countries have become the main source of insecurity. He said recent military confrontations involving the United States and Israel had further destabilized the region.
The Iranian leader also questioned the effectiveness of US-backed military installations, claiming that foreign bases cannot guarantee security for their allies when they struggle to secure themselves.
In addition to regional security issues, Khamenei reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to protecting its nuclear and missile capabilities. He stated that these defense assets are considered a national priority and will be protected in the same way Iran safeguards its territorial and air borders.
His comments are widely seen as a response to repeated calls by US President Donald Trump for limiting Iran’s military and nuclear programs.
The statement reflects Tehran’s continued opposition to foreign military influence in the Gulf and signals Iran’s intention to maintain a strong strategic presence in the region.
